The diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan is actively participating in the 67th Session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs held on March 14-22 in Vienna.
During the event, the delegation presented Uzbekistan’s position on the fight against drugs and exchanging experiences with other countries. On March 14-15, representatives from Uzbekistan actively participated in discussing strategies and initiatives to overcome drug-related challenges. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Austria Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, addressing the session, stressed the importance of the role of the CND in the global fight against drugs. He praised Uzbekistan’s partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and noted the importance of the national drug control strategy as a key priority for Uzbekistan.
During the session, an event was held on the fight against synthetic drugs, organized by the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for combating the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors (CARICC). The Permanent Representative of the United Nations in Vienna also addressed this event, stressed the global threat of synthetic drugs, praised the efforts of the CARICC, and called for their activation.
