At the fortieth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Law “On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on cooperation in the use of airspace and airfields by state aviation aircraft in force majeure circumstances (Dushanbe, June 10, 2021)” was considered.
It was noted that the main purpose of the Agreement is to define a unified procedure for interaction in the use of airspace and airfields by state aviation aircraft in force majeure circumstances.
In accordance with the document, the parties have the right to request permission for a short-term crossing of the airspace of the receiving state in the event of force majeure. The ratification of the document serves to further ensure flight safety.
The senators stressed that the ratification of the Agreement will become a logical continuation of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, which, of course, serves the interests of ensuring regional security, as well as the sustainable development of entire Central Asia.
