Uzbekistan, Tajikistan filmmakers to shoot a film about Navoi and Jami

The Cinematography Agency hosted an online conference on the implementation of new joint film projects by Uzbekistan and Tajikistan cinematographers.

The event was attended by famous filmmakers, scientists and writers of the two countries.

Director of Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, Head of Tajikfilm Mahmasaid Shokhiyon informed about the significance of ongoing joint projects and plans.

The participants of the event noted the need for collecting historical, scientific and literary information to create a feature film on their basis, paying special attention to reflecting the friendly ties between the Uzbek and Tajik peoples.

A creative group will be formed from among scientists and filmmakers of the two countries. Based on the activities carried out by the group, a script will be written, at the next stage, a director and actors will be selected.

The parties agreed to hold weekly online conferences with the participation of filmmakers from the two countries to take strict control over the implementation of the planned work.

Views were exchanged on two projects – the films “Notanish Yulduz” (Unknown Star) and “Toshlar va Suv” (Stones and Water) launched by Uzbek and Tajik cinematographers.
