Uzbekistan and Tajikistan delegations have met in Dushanbe to discuss practical issues of cooperation aimed at developing transport connectivity between the two countries and the region as a whole.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in international road transport, development of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan – China transport corridor, restoration of Khashtak – Bekabad border crossing, electrification of Bekabad (Uzbekistan) – Spitamen – Istiqlol (Tajikistan) railway section, construction of a new railway on the section Penjikent (Tajikistan) – Bulungur/Jambay (Uzbekistan), increasing the volume of transit through the section “Bekabad” and other issues.

Following the meeting, a corresponding protocol was signed.
