The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Uzbekistan, M.D. Lamawansa.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Association of Private Tourism Organizations of Uzbekistan and leading travel companies working in the direction of Sri Lanka.

Participants discussed issues of enhancing cooperation in priority areas of tourism, became familiar with the tourism potential, attractive routes and tourist products of Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka.

An agreement was reached on strengthening the bilateral legal framework in tourism, expanding business contacts between members of the Association of Private Tourism Organizations of Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, organizing webinars and business meetings for representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries.
