The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Jakhongir Ganiyev met with the Secretary-General for Defense Policy of Spain Martínez Núñez.

The parties discussed issues of further cooperation in the military-technical sphere within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Defense of the two countries.

Practical aspects of bilateral relations, including cooperation on defense, ensuring regional security and combating common challenges and threats were also considered. It was noted that due to the regular dialogue at various levels and directions in recent years, Uzbekistan – Spain relations have demonstrated positive dynamics of development, being enriched with practical content.

Secretary-General for Defense Policy of Spain was also informed about the measures taken by the leadership of Uzbekistan to radically reform the country's defense industry.

Secretary-General for Defense Policy Martínez Núñez noted the Spanish side's interest in deepening cooperation and expressed readiness to sign a draft memorandum for developing cooperation.
