Uzbekistan – South Korean textile training and research technopark opens in Tashkent

At the opening ceremony of the technopark, representatives of Uzbekistan and South Korea noted that diplomatic relations between the two countries serve further development of many areas, including in textile industry.
Signing by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of the resolution “On measures for organizing training and research textile technopark involving grant aid from the Government of the Republic of Korea at Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry” of February 7, 2017 is a new stage in expanding the scope of work in this area. In order to implement the resolution, this project has been implemented by Uzbekistan Textile Industry Association together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea.
According to the head of department of Uzbekistan Textile Industry Association Sardor Odinayev, the light industry of Uzbekistan is one of the rapidly developing and socially significant sectors of the economy. The main goal of creating the training and research textile technopark is development and implementation of international training and research programs, research in the field of advanced technologies, materials science, dyeing. The project has been funded by the Republic of Korea under the Official Development Aid program. The project cost is 15 million USD.
