A telemedicine center has been opened in Samarkand with the support of Korean partners.
During the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in to Uzbekistan in 2019, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the first and second clinics of Samarkand State Medical Institute and Chilgok Hospital of the Kyungpook National University.
Based on this memorandum, the telemedicine center has started its work at Samarkand State Medical Institute. In this regard, the Head of Samarkand regional Health Department D. Jumaniyazov, as well as specialists from Korea, spoke about the goals of creating this center and the directions of its activities. Now the clinic will hold consultations and discussions through telemedicine in cooperation with Korean doctors in the treatment of patients, performing complex types of procedures.
An online training and practical conference were also held with the participation of Samarkand and Korean medical personnel. Reports on the accreditation system in Korean medical institutions, infection control and vaccination processes in these public health institutions, recommendations on taking control over the spread of infection among medical personnel of Uzbekistan and other issues were heard at the event.
