18:04 / 2020-12-08

The leadership of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan has taken part in the 8th International Conference on Infrastructure Development. At the event, ten participating countries exchanged best practices in the construction industry.

Talks have been held between the Minister of Construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Batir Zakirov and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, Kim Hyun-mee. The issue of harmonizing building codes and regulations of the Republic of Uzbekistan with international standards was raised at the previous conference, in 2019. At today’s event, the Korean side expressed its readiness to assist the Uzbek side in the form of allocating grant funds for the implementation of this project from the beginning of 2021.

According to the Korean partners, a group of the best specialists from South Korea will be engaged in the creation of a special national platform for building standards. The modernization of standards will be carried out not only in the construction of buildings, but also in transport, engineering and other types of structures. In addition, in order to improve the qualifications of local personnel, the Korean side expressed its readiness to organize a special training program to be held next year in Seoul.
