Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea have established a multifaceted collaboration. Interparliamentary ties are developing, and joint projects in healthcare are being implemented.
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva received the Chair of the Health and Welfare Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Shin Dong-kun and discussed activities in this direction and plans for the future.
At the same time, the issues of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, the current state and prospects for the development of interparliamentary relations, and the implementation of joint projects and plans in healthcare were considered.

At the meeting, it was noted that the existing potential should be used to enhance trade-economic and investment ties between the countries, increase the volume of mutual trade to $5 billion.
The parties exchanged views on social protection of the population, in particular, the implementation of new projects in the healthcare, the creation of new joint medical centers and pharmaceutical clusters, training, equipping territorial medical institutions with modern equipment.
During the conversation, it was stressed that relations between the parliaments have become closer in recent years, and a constant dialogue between friendship groups has been established.
At the same time, creating a special commission in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis for cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea is recognized as an expression of the great attention paid by the leadership of Uzbekistan to bilateral cooperation. It was noted that the discussion of top-level agreements and joint projects within the framework of this commission contributes to their timely and high-quality implementation.
Attention was focused on the fact that the health of mothers and children will be strengthened through the establishment of direct links between the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health and the Health and Welfare Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, and the implementation of planned projects.
An agreement was reached on improving reproductive performance, preventing hereditary diseases, and attracting volunteers for the “Inson” social service centers.
