The Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea hosted a meeting with the head of the Global Knowledge Exchange and Development Center under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea, Oh Cheol Sae.

The parties discussed issues of establishing long-term cooperation in knowledge sharing, transfer of South Korean experience in the development and digitalization of the economy, promotion of green energy, creation of infrastructure and training of highly qualified personnel.

Mr. Oh Cheol Sae expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the Uzbek side and suggested starting the implementation of joint activities in areas of priority for Uzbekistan.

The readiness of the center to begin comprehensive and systematic work on the implementation of joint projects with Uzbekistan in supervised areas was noted.

Following the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the diplomatic mission and the center, which provides for the promotion of initiatives for knowledge sharing and the introduction of South Korean experience in Uzbekistan in digitalization, green development, the implementation of responses to social, economic and structural changes in the post-coronavirus era, structural reforms in industry and labor market associated with digitalization, increasing the role of the government in protecting vulnerable groups and improving the quality of life, as well as strengthening social policy, economic cooperation by promoting the exchange of human resources.
