Ambassador of Uzbekistan Vitaly Fen met with the newly appointed Director General of the International Economic Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea Park Il-young.

Discussions were held on the current issues of strengthening financial-technical and investment cooperation, the implementation of important projects at the expense of the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Export-Import Bank of Korea.

Issues of speeding up the procedures for approving and preparing technical documentation for projects implemented with the involvement of concessional financing from EDCF were discussed in detail. Projects for the creation of Tashkent Pharma Park cluster and a multidisciplinary modern specialized medical center for adults were emphasized. Mr. Park Il-young provided information about the special control by the leadership of his ministry for the timely implementation of projects in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, Mr. Park Il-young expressed his readiness to further enhance relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea, including within the framework of the preparation for the upcoming high-level bilateral events.
