The Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea hosted a meeting with representatives of Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and SI Imaging Services to discuss issues of further enhancing cooperation in the research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the parties note the positive dynamics of the consistent development of cooperation in this direction. Several talks were held between specialists from the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea, the KARI, as well as the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Space Research and Technologies “Uzbekkosmos”. A joint Uzbekistan – Korean working group has been formed to implement joint projects in this sphere.

The South Korean side noted an interest in further intensifying interaction and exchange of experience.

An agreement was reached to hold a videoconference between the relevant specialists of the joint working group on cooperation in the research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
