Uzbekistan snipers take the second place in the international competition
11:50 / 2022-06-30

Türkiye hosted the Best Sniper Team international competition between military personnel of leading countries at the base of the training center in Eğirdir city, the Ministry of Defense reports.

The competition was attended by 33 teams from 12 countries, such as Germany, Bahrain, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and 15 teams of Türkiye’s naval special forces, ground special forces, and special operations forces.

The competition, which included day and night training, lasted ten days.

The difference between this international competition from other shooting competitions was that shooting exercises took place from a helicopter and a boat. The use of laser rangefinders was not allowed at the competition. Snipers identified the target at a distance of 1000 meters and more with the help of optical devices and destroyed it within the specified time.

Competition participants moved for 6 hours in the mountainous area according to the magnetic azimuth at night and destroyed the target at an uncertain distance.

The territory of the competition was unfamiliar to the representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan. Although there was no complete information about the targets and exercises, Uzbekistan's servicemen successfully fulfilled all the conditions and won second place among 12 national teams. The first place went to Türkiye’s team.

Türkiye’s judges and snipers highly appreciated the training and skills of Uzbekistan military personnel.
