18:31 / 2023-02-15

Two hundred servicemen from Uzbekistan, who arrived in Türkiye to assist, are conducting search and rescue operations in Hatay province most affected by earthquakes, and taking part in the treatment of injured citizens in a field hospital.

Last week, our compatriots saved many residents of the province.

Uzbekistan specialists also organized a field hospital in Ovakent district of Antakya. Ethnic Uzbeks live in this city and moved to Türkiye 40 years ago.

Colonel of the medical service Nosir Fozilov said in a conversation with an Anadolu Agency correspondent that our rescuers urgently arrived at the tragic place through the city of Gaziantep.

“There are many doctors among us”, N. Fozilov said. – We were provided with transport to arrive at the tragic place. We were warmly welcomed. We are working both as medical specialists and as members of the search and rescue team. Lifeguards work around the clock. Our field hospital, equipped with ultrasound and X-ray machines, as well as a laboratory, is designed to receive 100 patients at a time. To date, assistance has been provided to almost 600 elderly citizens, children and pregnant women.
