On August 26, 2021, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Serbia.

The delegation of Serbia was led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starović, Uzbekistan – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fozilov.

The current state and prospects of cooperation were discussed during the negotiations. The parties agreed on the need to intensify the political-diplomatic dialogue between Uzbekistan and Serbia, including through the organization of mutual visits and negotiations at various levels.

The possibility of creating a sectoral Intergovernmental Commission, as well as concluding intergovernmental agreements on attracting and protecting investments and trade-economic cooperation, attracting Serbian companies to implement investment projects in Uzbekistan was discussed.

The delegations expressed interest in enhancing cultural-humanitarian and interregional ties.

Views were also exchanged on certain regional and international issues, the interaction of the parties within the framework of multilateral structures.
