The Republican Working Group of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues to monitor the process of cotton picking following the established norms and rules.
According to the Press Service of the Upper House of parliament, the working groups are headed by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health Odiljon Iminov and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Water Resources and Ecology Riskul Siddikov. They studied the process of cotton harvesting in Termez district of Surkhandarya region and Khavas district of Syrdarya region.
Senators focused on the conditions created for harvesters, regular awareness of their health, as well as the prevention of forced labour.
Similar monitoring was conducted in Kashkadarya, Namangan, Tashkent and Khorezm regions.
