Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Yousef bin Saleh Al Otaibi.

Mrs. Narbayeva congratulated Yousef bin Saleh Al Otaibi on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan and the beginning of diplomatic activity in the country.

It was noted that bilateral relations between the two countries have risen to a qualitatively new level after the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia on 17-18 August at the invitation of the King of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The parties exchanged views on further enhancing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.

It was noted that inter-parliamentary ties are an important factor in the development of bilateral relations. It is necessary to further intensify the cooperation of friendly groups established for this purpose in the parliaments of the two countries and to enrich them with practical results.

An agreement was reached on the exchange of experience, the organization of regular visits of delegations, the establishment of relations between committees in parliaments.
