The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted Uzbekistan – Saudi Arabia Business Council Meeting.

The participants of the event discussed issues of investment cooperation in various industries, infrastructure projects in transport, road construction, tourism and medicine.

It was noted that political, trade-economic and investment cooperation has been developing rapidly over the past two years. The visits of the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid al-Falih to Uzbekistan in January and the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov to Saudi Arabia in May helped to raise mutual partnership to a new level. Mutually beneficial projects implemented in a short time between entrepreneurs of the two countries were discussed.

On August 5, Riyadh – Tashkent flight has been launched for the first time thanks to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between Uzbekistan Airways and Flynas.

Cooperation in the context of the investment potential and industries was presented. It was noted that there are 38 joint ventures with the participation of Saudi entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan.
