Uzbekistan’s textile workers reported for the first quarter of the year

“Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association held a briefing devoted to the analysis of the results of work in the first quarter of this year, including the execution of the requirements of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of December 14, 2017 “On measures for accelerated development of textile, sewing and knitting industry”. This was reported by the Press Service of the Association.A certain increase in a number of industry indicators has been achieved for the first quarter of this year. In particular, enterprises of the industry produced 13.2 thousand tons of yarn in the 1st quarter of 2018; 6.1 million square meters of fabrics; 11.2 million pieces of apparel and knitwear, more than for the corresponding period of 2017.
One of the main tasks of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association is creation of cotton-textile clusters. The total area of cotton cultivation on the cotton-textile clusters in Uzbekistan amounted to almost 160 thousand hectares of land.
Two schools in Uzbekistan began testing samples of school uniforms. The experiment on introducing a school uniform takes place at school No. 91 in Tashkent city and at school No. 4 in Syrdarya region. According to parents, they noted high quality, weariness and convenience of the tested samples.
According to the agreements reached, during the period from May 22 to June 5, 2018, the Académie Internationale de Coupe de Paris (AICP) in Paris will hold training courses for representatives of garment production companies under “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association and domestic designers.
During the reporting period, 29 projects were launched, 7 new enterprises were put into operation within the framework of the Program of measures on further development of textile, sewing and knitting industry for 2017-2019.
