Uzbekistan’s schoolchildren win International Junior Math Olympiad and Vanda Science Global Finals in Malaysia
Malaysia hosted International Junior Math Olympiad and Vanda Science Global Finals, where Uzbekistan was represented by 13 students of secondary schools.
On July 26-29, 2019, Malaysia hosted International Junior Math Olympiad and Vanda Science Global Finals, where Uzbekistan was represented by 13 students of secondary schools.
The purpose of the Olympiad is to promote educational standards and curricula of general secondary education in STEAM system (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) with an emphasis not only on memorizing and reproducing information, but also on development of creativity, self-search and analysis.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, the most distinguished students reached the finals after preliminary selection by solving puzzles and math problems.

Following the Olympiad, schoolchildren from Uzbekistan were awarded with 5 gold, 2 silver and 12 bronze medals among more than 1,100 students from 20 countries.
The event organizers highly appreciated the level of Uzbekistan schoolchildren’s training, their desire to win and the level of knowledge in mathematics and natural sciences.
