Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov has met with the Minister of Energy of Russia Nikolai Shulginov, in Saint Petersburg.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed the development of interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as the course of current and prospects for future energy projects of Russian companies in Uzbekistan.
“Uzbekistan is a long-term partner of Russia in the energy sector. Close and stable ties have been developed between the countries both in bilateral and multilateral formats. Russian and Uzbekistan companies are actively cooperating in the gas, oil and power sectors. Our companies, Gazprom and its subsidiaries, Lukoil, have long-term successful cooperation in the development of oil and gas fields in Uzbekistan, and cross-border energy supplies are growing”, said Minister Nikolai Shulginov.
Mr. Alisher Sultanov emphasized that Russia is one of the most reliable partners of Uzbekistan in the energy sector. A large-scale program is being implemented to increase the production of hydrocarbon raw materials, in which VEB.RF and JSC Gazprombank are directly involved from the Russian side. The Concept of Digitalization of the Energy Industry is being developed and will be implemented with the support of the Russian company X-Holding. “I am sure that we have even more joint projects ahead, which largely determine the energy development of our countries”, said the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan.
