The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in Moscow.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies noted with satisfaction the high degree of readiness of the parties for the upcoming high-level visit to Russia and discussed the current issues of interstate relations.

The readiness of the two countries was expressed to continue close contacts and mutual support within the framework of international and regional organizations.

Views were exchanged on the situation in Afghanistan.

Following the meeting, the ministers signed several bilateral documents in the field of information and biological security, as well as the Program of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for 2022-2023.
