Uzbekistan, Russia enhance collaboration in the medical sphere

On June 3-4, Samarkand hosted the International Uzbekistan – Russia Healthcare Forum.

Important issues related to expanding cooperation in medicine were discussed at the forum. Views were exchanged on joint projects in the digitalization of treatment, training programs, advanced training, scientific-practical conferences, master classes, scientific research, and further cooperation in neurosurgery, pediatrics, surgery, cardiology, and oncology.

Thanks to the multifaceted relations based on mutual trust and respect between the two countries, Bukhara State Medical Institute, named after Abu Ali ibn Sino cooperates with prestigious universities in Russia. The directions of interaction with universities in Europe and Russia have been organized for three years. About a thousand students are enrolled in the double degree program.

At the forum, breakout sessions were held on transforming medical education and introducing new technologies into the system. The Rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino Shukhrat Teshayev delivered a speech. The participants were informed about cooperation between Bukhara and Russia and ongoing joint projects.

During the event, nine memoranda were signed on developing joint educational programs by Bukhara State Medical Institute representatives, introducing investments in the healthcare sector and professional development of specialists.
