Uzbekistan representatives took part in the Women in Energy Summit Workshop Central and West Asia. Equal by 2030 – Time for Change, via videoconference.
According to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the official launch of the Women in Energy Program, which is the first targeted initiative to promote women in the energy sector in Central and Western Asia, took place.
The goal of the Program is to make the principles of the concept of “Equal by 2030” the conditions for the functioning of the energy industry in the region, introducing equal opportunities, equal pay and equal leadership according to the new standard by 2030.
The Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Energy, Jamola Khusanjanova, noted that new priorities in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency open up new opportunities for the industry to diversify the workforce. The emergence of new opportunities provided by green energy should, among other things, provide an opportunity for more women to occupy leadership positions in the energy business.
The summit participants were government structures, regulatory bodies, agencies responsible for the formation and implementation of energy policy from the countries of Central and Western Asia and other countries, public figures and think tanks, representatives of investment, industrial, banking and other structures.
