According to the uzbektourism.uz portal, Uzbekistan topped the Safety Perceptions Index 2023 ranking, in which 121 countries participated. According to experts, the level of danger to the life and movement of citizens in the country is minimal.

The top 5 safest countries also included the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Norway, and Estonia. Among the Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan took 14th place, Tajikistan 17th, Kyrgyzstan 26th. Guinea, Sierra Leone and Mali took the lowest place in the rating.

The Safety Perceptions Index ranking is based on five key factors: food and water, violent crime rates, weather conditions, mental health, and workplace safety. These factors form the country’s image as a safe destination.

Experts note that Uzbekistan’s first place in this ranking will create favorable conditions for the unhindered entry and exit of foreign tourists, highlighting its growing attractiveness as a tourist destination.
