Measures on developing railway transport, implemented under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, help to organize passenger and cargo transportation on modern levels. Boosting the rolling stock with modern locomotives and comfortable railway cars plays an important role in this direction. At present over 50 per cent of available locomotives at Uzbekiston temir yo’llari (Uzbekistan railways) JSC have been renovated. Expansion of the electrified railway roads system allows using more comfortable and speedy electric locomotives.
Uzbekiston Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) received 11 cargo electric locomotives from China within the implementation of project “Renovations of Locomotive Park. Purchase of 11 cargo electric locomotives. 2nd phase” with the participation of the Export-import Bank of China. The presentation of locomotives was held in Tashkent.
Chinese consortium of CNTIC and CNR DLRC, which has been cooperating with the Uzbek Company for several years, supplied electric locomotives. A special attention in manufacturing process has been paid to creating comfort and facilities in operation, maintenance and repair. Specialists from Uzbekistan took part in the design process of the brake system and microchip process control along with Chinese experts.
- New electric locomotives are designed to carry heavy loads in the mountainous area and differ from locomotives of this class with a number of advantages, says the head of department at Uzbekiston temir yo’llari JSC Nusratillo Abdullayev. - In particular, thanks to the modern brakes and complex security, power consumption is reduced by 5-8 per cent. The locomotive, meeting international requirements for environmental safety, is equipped with environmentally friendly asynchronous traction motors, fault recording microprocessor system of Toshiba Corporation (Japan). The term of generation of resources through the use of modern composite materials has been increased by 15 percent.
The locomotive has a power output of 7200 kW, and can reach the speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Modern technologies and energy savings on new locomotives allow reducing fuel consumption by 2-2.5 times.
The new locomotives "O'z-ELR, acquired by Uzbekiston temir yo’llari JSC will serve to further increase cargo volumes.
