The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva, in Brussels.

In the first half of the year, Portugal holds the presidency of the European Union.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties noted the importance of enhancing the political dialogue, including through the organization of visits at various levels, holding consultations between foreign ministries, and mutual support of the parties within the framework of international organizations.

The parties stated that there is a significant potential for cooperation in the textile, pharmaceutical, agricultural and tourism sectors.

Following the talks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Portugal on political consultations.
