On 8 March, virtual talks were held between the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood, via videoconference.
The parties discussed the current issues of cooperation and the state of the implementation of mutual agreements in trade, economic, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The virtual talks were also attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and JSC Uzbekistan Railways.
The main attention was paid to the practical aspects of interaction on the implementation of the project for the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway. The existing issues were comprehensively considered, mutually acceptable solutions were developed, and further steps were identified to accelerate the implementation of the project.

The parties also focused on the prospects for enhancing partnership in trade, investment, industrial cooperation, transport, education, healthcare and culture.
Issues related to the organization and holding of the 6th meeting of Uzbekistan – Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as the Business Council with the participation of businesspeople of both countries, to be held in Tashkent in July this year, were considered.
