A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan.

The signing took place in Jeddah within the framework of the international workshop on the role of national human rights institutions in the protection and promotion of human rights in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The Memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the OIC IPHRC Haci Ali Acikgul and the First Deputy Director of the NCHR Mirzatillo Tillabayev.

The parties agreed to hold regular consultations to discuss issues of mutual interest, organize joint events, programs and projects in human rights.

The participants were informed about the goals and objectives in human rights set out in the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026.
