Only by having tens of thousands of highly qualified financiers and economists at the international level can the competitiveness of national businesses be ensured.
The Presidential Resolution of February 7, 2024, “On measures to radically improve the personnel training system for economic sectors” aims to achieve this goal. What else needs to be done to ensure the growing demand of national business for international-level financiers and economists was discussed at a roundtable on “International-level financial specialists in Uzbekistan: problems and solutions”. It was organized by the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with UzLiDeP, the Association of Certified Financial Specialists of Uzbekistan (ACFP), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Economics, relevant universities, and organizations attended the event. They discussed the prospects for the introduction of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the program of measures to implement the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Joint Examination Scheme (JES) conducted by ACCA in partnership with national professional organizations, issues of improving legislation to introduce international standards in training and certification of financiers and economists, the certification program of professional organizations of Uzbekistan.
On the sidelines of the event, ACFP and ACCA signed an agreement to conduct joint exams. This will allow the issue of a diploma in Finance and Business Management, recognized in more than 180 countries worldwide.
