The National Press Center hosted a meeting between OSCE/ODIHR NAM experts led by Alexey Gromov, OSCE/ODIHR Senior Election Adviser, and Uzbekistan media leaders.

The parties considered the issues of improving Uzbekistan’s electoral legislation, ensuring the active participation of the media in this process, as well as activities carried out on objective coverage of the elections.

OSCE advisers spoke about the role of the media in the elections and made recommendations on improving the legal knowledge of journalists.

Chairman of Uzbekistan National TV and Radio Company Alisher Khadjayev, Deputy Director General of Uzbekistan National News Agency Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiyev and others informed about the country’s experience in covering elections, activities carried out to improve the professionalism, knowledge and skills of journalists.
