On April 8-9, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, a joint international online seminar “Scholars of Islamic Civilization” of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Institute of Islamic Civilization of Malaysia at the National University of this country was held.
The event was attended by the Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan Shaazim Minovarov, the Director of the Institute of Islamic Civilization of Malaysia Fariza Sham and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov, as well as leading experts in Islamic studies and representatives of research institutes of Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries.
The participants exchanged views on the scientific heritage of the great scientists and thinkers of Uzbekistan, as well as their contribution to the development of world civilization, culture and art. In particular, presentations were organized on their role in the development of natural and exact sciences, Islamic philosophy, law, psychology, theology during the Islamic Renaissance.
In her speech, the Director of the Institute of Islamic Civilization of Malaysia Fariza Sham highly appreciated the measures taken under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to radically reform the education system, develop science and increase the efficiency of spiritual and educational activities in the country. In this regard, she stated that it is these reforms that will undoubtedly contribute to the creation of a solid foundation for the Third Renaissance in Uzbekistan.
The participants were informed about the significant contribution of Uzbek scholars to the development of Islamic civilization, including theology, Islamic law, history, philosophy, mathematics, astronomy and medicine.
Following the event, agreements were reached to continue the exchange of research and knowledge in the above areas, as well as to strengthen academic cooperation between scientific institutions of the countries that took part in the seminar.
