The State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan and Royal Customs Department of Malaysia-RCDM have held a virtual meeting with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan.
Heads and employees of SCC and RCDM departments took part in the negotiations.
Issues of customs control and clearance of goods in transport-logistics centers of Malaysia, introduction of a system and rules for duty-free import of goods and electronic declaration of goods sent abroad, exchanging information with other countries during customs control and international postal operations, as well as customs control of goods shipment, including those purchased in online stores abroad, were discussed at the meeting.
The Malaysian side provided information on procedures for importing and exporting goods in Malaysia, mechanisms for implementing customs procedures at international postal hubs, risk management practices, as well as experience in ensuring transparency and efficiency of customs authorities through introduction of modern and advanced ICT in the customs sphere.
Following the event, the sides agreed to consider the possibility of signing a Cooperation Agreement between the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan and Customs Department of Malaysia and to organize short-term training courses and webinars for representatives of SCC by attracting Malaysian specialists.
Exchanging experience, including in implementation and effective use of risk management system (RMS) to improve RMS in Uzbekistan will continue.
