The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov held a meeting with the Chairman of MARA (Majlis Amanah Rakyat – Council of People’s Trust), a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia Azizah binti Mohd Dun.

The Malaysian side was informed about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in education, in particular, measures to improve the talent management system and train future leaders of the country by launching a new model of Presidential, specialized and creative schools.

Issues of implementing joint projects in advanced training of Uzbekistan teachers based on international best practices, attracting qualified Malaysian specialists, curricula and literature to the country, establishing an exchange of students with MARA schools as the situation with the pandemic stabilizes, were discussed.

In turn, Azizah binti Mohd Dun noted that Malaysia also has a network of MARA education institutions similar to the Presidential Schools of Uzbekistan, which specialize in teaching STEAM disciplines. Schools also offer a wide range of extracurricular activities to develop students' non-academic abilities and social skills.

She expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the Presidential, specialized and creative schools of Uzbekistan for the exchange of best practices in the creation of academic bases, professional development of teachers and relevant specialists.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold online negotiations between the leadership of MARA and the Agency of Presidential Educational Institutions of Uzbekistan within the agreed time frame for a detailed discussion of the prospects for establishing cooperation aimed at achieving the above-mentioned practical results.
