The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia has organized virtual talks between representatives of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, domestic and Malaysian travel companies.
It is aimed at discussing prospects for cooperation and increasing tourist flow from Malaysia, including promoting Uzbekistan's pilgrimage tourism potential abroad.
Heads of administrations and departments of the State Committee, as well as heads of more than 10 domestic travel companies, and managers of about 30 leading travel agencies specializing in sending Malaysian tourists to Uzbekistan took part in the videoconference.
At the meeting, the Malaysian side was informed about large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan to modernize and expand the infrastructure of pilgrimage tourism, as well as measures that are taken to counter the spread of coronavirus and actively promote the tourism image of the country as a safe country for tourists’ health under the slogan “Uzbekistan – Safe Travel Guaranteed”.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on the development of joint tour packages for distribution among citizens of Malaysia, organization of information tours for representatives of major travel companies of this country to Uzbekistan to study the infrastructure, and implemented standards “Halal” and “Muslim friendly” in the country.
