Uzbekistan, Malaysia discuss cooperation prospects in digitalization
22:35 / 2025-02-05

During the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, negotiations were held between representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park, and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

MDEC, established in 1996, is a government agency under the Ministry of Digital of Malaysia responsible for promoting and developing the country’s digital economy.

The signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the near future aimed at developing the digital economy and innovation in both countries, as well as the preparation of an Uzbekistan – Malaysia Trade Mission in Syrdarya region, were discussed at the meeting.

Special attention was paid to the cooperation of IT companies, which opens up new business opportunities for Malaysia and Uzbekistan. Issues of promising cooperation in digital economy development were considered.

A Memorandum of Cooperation is planned to be signed following the negotiations. This cooperation involves outsourcing IT processes to IT Park Uzbekistan residents. The agreement will include organizing events to familiarize people with Uzbekistan’s business environment, assisting in opening offices for Malaysian IT companies, and supporting the development of startups and innovative enterprises.
