At the videoconference on February 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the merger of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development.

Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov was instructed to lead this structure.
