Uzbekistan, Latvia strengthen scientific and technical cooperation

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov has met with the President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences Ivars Kalviņš.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for enhancing practical cooperation between the academies of sciences of Uzbekistan and Latvia in the scientific, technical and innovation spheres, including by jointly attracting funding from international financial institutions.

The President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences highly appreciated the personal attention of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the comprehensive support for applied science in Uzbekistan and the widespread introduction of innovations in all spheres of the country's life. He noted that such support will undoubtedly bear fruit in the foreseeable future.

The academician emphasized the presence of prerequisites for further building up practical cooperation through the academies of sciences. The parties confirmed their readiness to start working out the regulatory framework for such a partnership.
