Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov has held talks from Nukus via videoconference with the Chairwoman of the Board of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute of Latvia, Professor Irina Yatskiv, and Dean of the Institute Inna Stecenko.
The meeting was also attended by the leadership of the Vocational School and Technical School of Service of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The negotiations were aimed at enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia in education, training in IT technologies, transport, and logistics.
Agreements were reached following the meeting, in particular on the organization of cooperation in training qualified and competitive personnel, consideration of the introduction of dual education. The Latvian side noted the readiness to assist in training the teaching staff of Uzbekistan education institutions within the framework of special programs of Transport and Telecommunication Institute. An agreement was also reached to start working on the issue and establish a student exchange within the framework of improving the skills of Uzbekistan students in the relevant areas of the Latvian Institute.
The Latvian partners expressed their readiness to organize an exchange of experience on the implementation of European standards of education in Uzbekistan’s education system.
