The Mayor of Jurmala was informed about the creation of the only ultra-modern international tourist center in the region with the historical and ethnographic complex “Eternal City” in Samarkand, as well as efforts to significantly increase the flow of tourists as part of the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “Samarkand – Tourist Gate of New Uzbekistan”.

The Mayor highly appreciated the signing of the Cultural Cooperation Program between the two cities in 2022 as part of the celebration of the Samarkand Day. “The document reflects a new stage in the deepening of relations between our cities”, Rita Sproge said.

The parties discussed the schedule and agenda for upcoming contacts along the line of sister city relations between Samarkand and Jurmala.
