MFA hosted a meeting with Latvian Ambassador Reinis Trokša.

The parties exchanged views and discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the implementation of the paragraphs of the roadmap adopted following the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs to Uzbekistan on February 8-10.

The sides noted the need for further development of political dialogue, in particular high-level contacts and strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.

The importance of enhancing trade-economic cooperation as a key area of relations between the countries was emphasized. In this regard, interest was expressed in working out the issue of holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

Agreements were reached on the intensification of joint work aimed at the substantial saturation of the bilateral agenda of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia.
