On October 27, 2022, Samarkand hosted a meeting between the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov and Toraga (Chairman) of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev.
It was noted that today, thanks to the strong political will and open, trusting dialogue between the heads of the two countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have risen to a high level.
“Kyrgyzstan is not only our closest neighbor, but also a fraternal country, whose people are connected with our common history, language, and culture. We are supporters of deepening friendly and good-neighborly relations”, N. Ismoilov stressed in his speech.
It was also noted that bilateral relations have been consistently developing in recent years, and the political and economic dialogue between the two countries has noticeably intensified.
N. Shakiev stressed that Uzbekistan has a strong position in the world community as a state rapidly developing in the socio-economic direction. Important democratic reforms are also being carried out in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further deepen cooperation.
