A working group headed by the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov and the Minister of Energy and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Kubanychbek Turdubaev met in Bishkek.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the parties discussed the implementation of the Kambarata HPP-1 investment project and the establishment of close cooperation within the framework of the operation of the North Sokh underground gas storage.

A decision was made to create a joint coordinating committee, which includes 4 subcommittees – for the electric power industry, oil and gas and coal industries, as well as for the supply of natural gas and the operation of the North Sokh UGS. Comprehensive programs have been developed and approved for each subcommittee.

As previously reported, during the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan on March 11-12, an agreement was reached on further development of cooperation, including the joint implementation of the investment project “Kambarata HPP-1”.
