Thanks to the reasonable national policy carried out in Uzbekistan and large-scale work aimed at strengthening interethnic friendship, people of different nationalities live in the country in peace and harmony.
These changes are reflected in the foreign policy of the state. In particular, the cooperation of neighboring countries in higher education yields promising results.
Several years ago Fergana State University established close cooperation with universities of neighboring Kyrgyzstan. Osh State University, Kyrgyz – Uzbek University, Jalal-Abad State University, Jalal-Abad International University named after Toktomamatov and Batken State University soon became the closest partners of Fergana State University. Academic exchanges between higher education institutions have been mutually beneficial.
According to a Cooperation Agreement signed with Osh State University in 2018, in December 2020, 100 university students took part in online classes conducted by professors of Osh State University and received certificates.
“During my career, I have communicated with people of different nationalities. Since I feel the warm attitude of the Kyrgyz people towards the Uzbeks, their other side – respect for teachers and scientists – made a very good impression on me. The significance of this event is that the children of our brothers and sisters will feel our love, attention and respect for the Kyrgyz people through higher education, which will further strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in many areas”, says Ravshan Maksudov, Rector of Fergana State University.
16 Kyrgyz students of Osh State University studied natural and foreign sciences (March 22 – April 3, 2021) within the framework of international agreements. The university has created all the conditions for these students to receive a high-quality education. They were provided with material and spiritual support.
The International Department organized the graduation of students, and with the participation of the Rector of Fergana State University, 16 students were awarded special certificates.
At the event, students expressed their opinion about the knowledge and experience acquired during their studies, satisfaction with the lessons taught by the teachers of Fergana State University, understood each other with Uzbek students without any translators, felt free in Fergana and continued their studies for some time. Master's degrees were discussed.
Following the event, the students were presented with university souvenirs.
