A Cooperation Agreement on a construction project of the “Uzbekistan- Kyrgyzstan – China” railway was signed between relevant agencies of China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, in Samarkand.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the document provides for the completion of all work on the feasibility study of the railway construction project in Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2023. When developing a feasibility study for the project, clarity was introduced on the issues of participation of the parties, financing and distribution of costs.

An opportunity will be provided to sell goods from China to Europe through Uzbekistan, to the countries of the Persian Gulf. The transport and transit potential of the Central Asian region will increase. The highway will connect China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan with the ports of the Caspian Sea, then with Europe, and in the future with the ports of Pakistan.
