Uzbekistan specialists has taken part in a training webinar on smart water management, organized by the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum and the International Centre for Water Security and Sustainable Management (UNESCO i-WSSM).

At the event, a wide range of issues in water supply and groundwater monitoring were discussed, as well as experience was exchanged on the implementation and use of information, communication and digital technologies in these sectors, using the example of the city of Seoul.

Uzbekistan and South Korean experts also exchanged assessments regarding the impact of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic on the situation with water consumption and water supply. In their opinion, these trends contribute to an increase in the relevance of issues of widespread use of modern technologies in water resources management.

Following the workshop, an agreement was reached to continue holding events in this sphere and consider the possibility of implementing pilot projects in Uzbekistan.
