The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul hosted a meeting with the Mayor of the South Korean city of Pyeongtaek, Jang-Seon Jung.

The parties discussed issues of establishing and further developing interregional cooperation in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Views were exchanged on the organization of joint events within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The South Korean side was informed about the large-scale socio-economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in all spheres of the country’s life, as well as the efforts being made to develop interregional cooperation.

The South Korean side expressed readiness to assist in organizing a gala concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the participation of artists from Uzbekistan in the city of Pyeongtaek.

Pyeongtaek with a large seaport is located in Gyeonggi Province. Taking into account that the city has a huge trade-economic potential and opportunities, an agreement was reached to promote the establishment of direct ties between the regions of the two countries, as well as the implementation of joint programs and projects.
