Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Chung Eui-yong, in Seoul.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed the current issues of further deepening and enahncing multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea.

The ministers considered the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the high-level talks, in particular the online summit in January this year.

Views were exchanged on the agenda and schedule of the upcoming joint events at various levels.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies considered proposals for building up trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The parties noted with satisfaction the results achieved in education. Interest was expressed in the implementation of joint projects in high technologies, green and digital economy.

Certain aspects of the interaction between the parties within the UN, WTO and other international organizations were discussed.

The Minister confirmed Uzbekistan’s support for the policy of the Republic of Korea on the peaceful settlement of the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the resumption of inter-Korean dialogue.

In turn, the South Korean side welcomed Uzbekistan’s initiatives to strengthen the atmosphere of good-neighborliness and develop mutually beneficial cooperation with neighboring countries and the integration process in the Central Asian region.

Several issues of an international and regional nature were also considered during the talks.
