The delegation led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva is on a working visit to the Republic of Korea.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the Chairman of Korea – Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Association Park Kwang-on. Views were exchanged on intensifying cooperation between parliaments to strengthen bilateral relations further and enrich them with practical content. In particular, to further develop inter-parliamentary collaboration, it was proposed to hold the next meeting of friendship groups in Seoul in 2024.
Issues of enhancing relations between the Cooperation Commission, led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea were discussed to ensure parliamentary control over the implementation of high-level agreements (action plans) and the entire complex of collaboration between Uzbekistan and Korea. At the same time, the parties focused on socio-economic issues, including poverty reduction and creating new jobs, improving the healthcare system, implementing projects to mitigate the negative consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea, and improving the ecosystem of the Aral Sea region.

A meeting was held between the Chairperson of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva and a group of compatriots from among teachers, students, entrepreneurs, and specialists in various fields, including IT companies.
The parties discussed issues of developing social and labor relations, creating decent conditions for our compatriots studying and working abroad, and ensuring reliable legal protection of their legitimate interests.
During the conversation, which took place in a sincere atmosphere, the participants raised several issues relating to personnel training, education, youth, and other areas in Uzbekistan and made practical proposals.
Following the meeting, Mrs. Narbayeva emphasized that she would use all the necessary opportunities to implement the proposals.
In turn, Uzbekistan citizens studying and working in Korea expressed their readiness to use their knowledge and experience for the country’s development.
